There is a real beauty to stringed instruments, especially the sounds that come from them! The violin and cello are a wonder of their own. I am always moved when I hear stringed instruments play. In the same way, I’ve never met two more magical humans in my life. It’s as if they were made for each other.
Let me introduce you to Allison & Antonio Marin, masters at crafting sound and experiences through their playing of the violin and cello! Who they are and what they represent will always capture the attention of just about anybody. They are not only good at making music, but they are some of the most genuine people you will ever meet.
We decided to do a branding photo shoot for them as musicians. Which looked like the following images in three locations.
For the first set of images, I wanted to go with a natural and organic tone so I chose a white wall that was simply lit with clean window lighting. I asked them to wear an everyday outfit and they went with all black to help add contrast to the images. The goal was to capture the simplicity of the two of them.
The second set was intended to be much more modern and artistic, for that I had them order two all-white outfits that I am calling “statement pieces”. If you are ever trying to brand yourself, I ALWAYS suggest ordering a statement jacket, shoes or some sort of outfit to help you stand out in your images. It’s one thing to be captured, it’s another thing to help highlight your personality through your wardrobe! My setup was really simple, I choose a black backdrop, some natural window lighting and a couple of ring lights to help get rid of harsh shadows!
These are personally some of my favorite photographs I’ve ever taken.
For the final set, we went for some cross between elegant and Gatsby. Still highlighting the instruments and the beauty of these two, but showing off something a little more timeless. We ended in a beautiful field where unknowingly had one of the biggest full moons of the year showing off on the horizon. It was absolutely stunning, and also freezing,
P.S Allison is a champ for being outside at sunset in 40-degree weather and 25 mile-an-hour winds!
I hope you enjoy the beauty of these photos and even more the beauty of the people being capture in them!
